Lawsuit filed in K-9 mauling

In an expected move, a lawsuit was filed Thursday against the city of Bakersfield in connection with a Bakersfield Police Department K-9 mauling.
The lawsuit filed on behalf of Victoria Youngblood doesn't give an exact estimate of how much money is being sought.
Youngblood attorney Daniel Rodriguez said no new details regarding the case are contained in the lawsuit. He said Youngblood's preliminary diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the experience hasn't changed.
Among the causes of the action listed in the lawsuit are that Youngblood's Fourth Amendment rights were violated, that there was general negligence on the part of police and that she suffered intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Rodriguez has said police executed a search warrant at Youngblood's Delaney Court residence April 8, searching the home in connection with that morning's arrest of Aaron Kohlbi Youngblood, her son.
A K-9 entered the bedroom where Victoria Youngblood was sleeping and attacked her, Rodriguez has said. She suffered injuries including a right ear that was almost completely torn off, a bone fracture behind the ear and lacerations to the back of her head and neck.
A hearing on the matter has not yet been set.
