Cal State Bakersfield continues to celebrate the 75th anniversary of John Steinbeck's classic novel -- "The Grapes of Wrath" -- with concerts, theatrical performances and lectures.

Monday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Richard Collins of the School of Arts and Humanities talked about the year of events happening in Kern County.

On April 9, folk music icon Arlo Guthrie will be at the Fox Theater performing unforgettable classic Dust Bowl-era songs. His "Here Comes The Kids Tour" will feature special guests Foster Campbell and Deep Water.

In November, the CSUB Theatre Arts Department will perform "From Dust Thou Art."

"The mission is to raise the level of consciousness of education," Collins said.

Tickets and information on the Guthrie concert can be found at foxtheateronline.com.
