Two local media leaders discussed coverage of same-sex marriage Tuesday on "First Look with Scott Cox."

"It's a big story locally and we had it on the front page again today," Californian President and CEO Richard Beene said.

But yesterday, he had a call from a loyal reader who basically said "enough already," Beene said.

Same-sex weddings resumed in Kern County on Monday, and other areas of California as early as last Friday, after a four and a half year ban imposed by Proposition 8 in November 2008.

Simulcast host Scott Cox said same-sex marriage does not bother him in the least, but some in Kern County are bothered by it.

Rogers Brandon, president of American General Media, said: "I think there was an opportunity to have more debate about it perhaps in the paper or on this show because there's clearly a point, counter-point to the issue."
