A countywide memorial ceremony Thursday honored officers who have died in the line of duty.

Representatives of several agencies, including the Bakersfield Police Department, Kern County Sheriff's Office and California Highway Patrol gathered at the Kern County Peace Officers' Memorial on Truxtun Avenue to remember the people who lost their lives serving the public.
