The Bakersfield Condors are leaving behind the heat and heading to breezy Alaska to play game one of the Kelly Cup Playoffs Western Conference Finals.

Coach Troy Mann stopped by "First Look with Scott Cox" Wednesday, a couple of hours before departing to San Fransisco with the team. They will take a 12-hour trip to Anchorage, Alaska, and face off Friday night.

After two days off, the coach said, the team is ready for another big series win against the Alaska Aces.

"Everything is positive, upbeat and the guys are truly motivated to hopefully push this thing through," Mann said.

The Condors' Kevin Bartl, filling in for Scott Cox as the "First Look" host, asked Mann if his job as a coach becomes easier during finals.

Mann said his job is never done, not even after the team finishes the series.

"It's a total mindset," he said. "We want to go and play a solid great hockey game and win it."
