Mayor's Freeway Cleanup needs volunteers to assist with de-littering the freeway off- and on-ramps May 18. Vests, helmets and trash bags are provided. Volunteers will meet at 8:45 a.m. Meet at the Park & Ride lot on Stockdale Highway, west of Oak Street. Travel by bus/van to the various cleanup locations and return by 11 a.m. For additional information, call 326-3770.
We Connect helps link needy families to critical resources that will help them save money, be more financially secure and lead healthier lives. Saturday, May 18, at the Kern County Fairgrounds, volunteers are needed to work two shifts 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m or 1 p.m.--5:30 p.m. (125 volunteers are needed for each shift).
