Musicians passing through Bakersfield will share their talents Sunday night in a concert at the Bakersfield Museum of Art.
Whitehorse, which is husband and wife Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland of Canada, are "passing through" town on the way from one big concert to another, said Jeff Pickering, who's among a group of people trying to bring top talent to Bakersfield.
He said on "First Look with Scott Cox" Thursday that he hopes more musicians, such as those passing through from Los Angeles to San Francisco, will stop here.
Host Scott Cox said that once Bakersfield is in the consciousness of more bands, more will come here.
Pickering described Whitehorse as "roots rock." They are promoting their album "The Fate of the World Depends on This Kiss."
"We're looking forward to hearing what they have to bring to town," Pickering said.
Whitehorse will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday at the museum, 1930 R St. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 at the door, and include beer, wine and snacks. Capacity is limited to 160. Organizers asked that people RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
