Education roundup: We the People seeks volunteers

Alumni and supporters of the We the People program who are interested in volunteering at either the regional or state finals are asked to contact Terri Richmond at cawtp35@yahoo.com or 871-5636.
Judges must be a minimum of five years past participation in the program.
Regional and state competitions are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and Feb. 9, respectively, at Golden Valley High School, 801 Hosking Ave., Bakersfield.
The Bakersfield College Jazz Ensemble, directed by Kris Tiner , will present a Fireside Jazz concert featuring the music of Sun Ra 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Fireside Room at Bakersfield College, 1801 Panorama Drive.
Tickets cost $8 general, $5 students/staff/seniors.
