Hattori is a brown-orange shade and has thick smooth fur. He's up for adoption.

Friday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Bakersfield SPCA director, Julie Johnson, who also runs the city's shelter on Mount Vernon Avenue, said the Shiba Inu breeds are very loyal but have a "wicked personality."

"A lot of people say he looks like a fox but they have food and dog aggression issues that people need to be aware of," Johnson said.

Hattori was named by simulcast host Scott Cox because the dog reminded him of Hattori Hanzo, a famous samurai and ninja of Japan.

"You want a dog that you can work with so you can form that bond," Cox said. "He's like a ninja."

Hattori's adoption fee is $80.

You can visit Hattori and other pets at the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center at 201 Mt. Vernon Ave. or call 832-7387.
