Felony probation sex offender at large

    The Kern County Probation Department said Michael Joseph Cacopardo is a registered sex offender who failed to report to his probation officer. A no-bail, felony warrant was issued for Cacopardo's arrest.

A sex offender was reported to be at large Friday night by the Kern County Probation Department.

He was identified as Michael Joseph Cacopardo, who failed to report to his probation officer. Subsequently, a no-bail, felony warrant was issued for Cacopardo's arrest, officials said.

Cacopardo is known to frequent the 2700 block of Haley Street, the 1600 block of Union Avenue, and the 3400 block of Grissom Street in Bakersfield, the department said.

Cacopardo, 45, was described as a white male, approximately 5'10", 180 lbs, graying and balding brown hair, brown eyes, and a graying goatee.

Anyone with any information concerning Cacopardo's whereabouts is asked to contact Probation Officer Anthony Mord at 661-868-7531 or to notify local law enforcement.
