A couple thousand cars from the '50s, '60s and '70s will be cruisin' into town this weekend for the 37th annual National Street Road Association Western Street Rod Nationals Plus.
"The love and the time and effort that goes into these things is unbelieveable," Jim Rowlett, marketing director of the National Street Rod Association, said of the cars while talking about the event on "First Look with Scott Cox" on Thursday.
Cars of all kinds of makes, models and styles will be on display at the Kern County Fairgrounds, 1142 S. P St.
"We're one of the few groups that comes into town that can't sneak into town," Rowlett said.
The nationals take place from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $14; children ages 6 to 12 get in for $5 and ages 5 and under are admitted free.
