It's officially Oscars galore.

Nine films received best picture nominations in a field that usually has 10.

Thursday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Californian lifestyles editor Jennifer Self, and assistant lifestyles editor Stefani Dias offered their votes on the movies they thought would win.

It was a unanimous vote that "12 Years a Slave" was a must-see film.

"It's a moving movie," Self said. "I had an emotional connection and feeling when I watched it."
