The Minter Field Air Museum's annual Founder's Day Banquet will be held Feb. 22 at Hodel's Country Dining in northwest Bakersfield.
A social hour is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. with the banquet beginning at 7 p.m. in Liberty Hall, organizers said in a news release.
Special guests will include Elinor Otto, who was one of thousands of American women during World War II -- sometimes symbolized by the cultural icon Rosie the Riveter -- who helped build aircraft to support the war effort.
Maj. Gen. Arnold Bunch Jr., commander of the newly combined Air Force Test Centers based at Edwards Air Force Base in eastern Kern County, will be a featured speaker.
The banquet will also honor several people who have made significant contributions to the museum in the past year, including Pearl Brummett Judd, one of several WASP pilots based at Minter Field when the WASPs were de-activated in 1945.
Reservations can be made by contacting Dean Craun at 654-9159, or via email at email@example.com.
Cost is $30 per person. Payment may be made at the door.
