A different kind of run made its way through downtown Bakersfield on Saturday.

Not a marathon. Not a serious, competitive race. Rather, the idea was to have fun and drink beer at an event known as Tap 'n' Run. Beer stations were set up at the beginning and end of the race, and at points in between. And participants were encouraged to wear costumes.

Photographer Rodney Thornburg shares these images from the event.
