East Bakersfield fire started by fireworks

Children playing with fireworks started a blaze in east Bakersfield Thursday that burned several structures and caused an estimated $50,000 in damage, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded about 12:30 p.m. to the fire in the 2500 block of Lake Street, according to a Kern County Fire Department news release. Three sheds, a garage and a travel trailer sustained major damage.

Two adults escaped the travel trailer unharmed and were being assisted by the American Red Cross, the news release said. There were no reported injuries.
