Helping Animals Live Tomorrow (H.A.L.T.) Rescue is gearing up for its 5th Annual 5K and 10K fun run fundraiser June 7 at Yokuts Park.

This year's race will be held in memory of Gordon Dole, a local philanthropist, businessman and animal lover.

Runners can register online at www.kerneventregistration.com. Cost is $25 per runner plus a $1.25 PayPal fee. Online registration closes June 4.

Interested persons may also sign up by emailing haltfunrun@gmail.com or on race day at the park starting at 6 a.m.

Both races kick off at 8 a.m.

H.A.L.T. has been rescuing and finding homes for more than 100 dogs annually for the past six years.

Festivities include a runner's lunch and an array of gift drawings. There will also be more than a dozen vendors and demonstrations.

Runners may bring their canine pals to the race.
