'First Look': White Forest Nursery celebrates 50 years

Fun, entertainment and a great selection of plants is what you can expect at the White Forest Nursery 50th Anniversary Celebration.

That is what Jere and Rita White from the nursery said Thursday on "First Look with Scott Cox."

Kern County Supervisor Mike Maggard will be a guest speaker at the event.

"Maggard used to work for us," Jere White said.

The celebration will also bring together the founders of the nursery and previous employees.

There will be an 83-inch prize wheel with an abundance of goodies to be given out.

For the kids, there will be a clown,

"We are excited for the next 50 years," Jere said.

The event kicks off at 8 a.m. Saturday, with a ceremony and cake from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tri-tip sandwiches will be sold for $5.
