Teriyaki chicken or a Harris Ranch New York steak? You pick at the 42nd annual Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Barbecue.
CSUB's Corey Costelloe said Thursday on "First Look with Scott Cox" that more than 3,000 people are expected to attend the May 8 event.
Costelloe reminded everyone that this is the only barbecue the university does each year.
"We don't do the fall barbecue anymore; we switched it up and now do a concert in the fall," he said.
More than 2,400 steaks and 800 chicken dinners will be served. For dessert, you can indulge in Marie Callender's pies.
New this year, Costelloe said, is a wine tasting area.
The event is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the CSUB Icardo Center. Outdoor entertainment includes a live DJ and the band Foster Campbell and Friends.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Roadrunner Scholarship Fund, which goes toward education costs of CSUB student-athletes.
