Are you ready for the extravaganza celebrating Bakersfield College's centennial year graduation?

Tuesday on "First Look with Scott Cox," Amber Chiang, the college's director of marketing and public relations, talked about the massive event set for May 16 at Memorial Stadium.

"We are going to have a shindig and fun time," she said.

The college is inviting alumni to attend the graduation to walk an honor lap and welcome in the class of 2014, Chiang said.

For the first time in BC history, there will be a free meal before the graduation. BC culinary arts students will prepare chicken salad and other delicious food for the first 5,000 people.

The dinner starts promptly at 5 p.m.

Chiang said the biggest part of the extravaganza is the fireworks that will close out the night.

The college raised funds for the past year to go all-out for graduation, she said.
