There were lots of laughs and lots of hugs Friday at Garces Memorial High as the school hosted its 20th annual Special People Play Day for more than 500 special education students.

Garces teens were matched with children from Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office and Bakersfield City School District programs for the day that included everything from pony rides to carnival games.
