Extravagant hats, red carpet and a Mint Julep cocktail in hand. That is what you can expect at the third annual CASA Derby Party fundraiser event at the Gardiner Ranch.

The theme for this year's event is the Kentucky Derby. All proceeds will be used to continue CASA's mission -- to serve as advocates for abused and abandoned children in Kern County.

"We want to bring awareness and let the community know that we are looking for volunteers," Amy Raddatz with CASA said Friday on "First Look with Scott Cox."

There will be Bluegrass-inspired Derby appetizers, drinks, live music and auctions.

The May 3 event begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $150 per person.
