The Bakersfield Museum of Art has selected artists to create one-of-a-kind works of art to be auctioned off at ARTMIX this Friday evening.

Friday on "First Look with Scott Cox," event emcee Miranda Whitworth detailed the food, drinks, silent auctions and activities attendees can expect.

"We are trying to bring back the cocktail culture to Bakersfield," Whitworth said.

The museum is expecting about 350 people to enjoy gourmet food, cocktails and desserts provided by local restaurants.

Ken Dandy, of Sandrini's Italian & Basque Restaurant, put together a Mint Julep cocktail for simulcast host Scott Cox and Whitworth to try.

"There is a variety of cocktails you can try," Dandy said. "Mix it up once in a while and put a smile back on your face."

The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. All proceeds benefit the museum's art education programs.
