You spend more time in your shoes than out of them, and you need comfortable shoes for foot support.

That is what Rosco Rolnick, owner of Guarantee Shoe Center, said Monday on "First Look with Scott Cox."

Rolnick is hosting his 22nd annual shoe drive that benefits the Bakersfield Homeless Center. Over the years, more than 50,000 pairs of shoes have been donated from Bakersfield and Kern County residents, he said.

You can drop off a pair of shoes before the end of the month and get $10 off any shoe purchase over $60 at Guarantee Shoe Center. But Rolnick said he will take shoes at any time of the year.

"Several people stop by and thank me for the shoes," Rolnick said. "They tell me 'you gave me shoes to wear when I was barefoot.'"

Guarantee Shoe Center is at 2101 Chester Ave. For more information call 325-8751.
