The Wildlands Conservancy's Wind Wolves Nature Preserve is holding its first Nature Festival this weekend, April 12 and 13.

The festival will include guided hikes, family activities, wildlife exhibits and preserve tours led by many local experts and nature enthusiasts.

Wind Wolves, situated 30 miles south of Bakersfield, is so close to home and yet many Bakersfield residents do not know about the preserve.

We are hosting this free festival for the community to inspire the importance of wild places, and to allow families to reconnect with nature at this 95,000-acre magnificent wild place.

There are activities from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Booth exhibits will be open from 10 a.m, to 3 p.m. both days.
