Free microchipping to be offered Saturday

By The Bakersfield Californian

Bakersfield Animal Control will offer free microchipping of dogs, including lifetime registrations, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Heritage Park, 2320 Mount Vernon Ave.

The service is free for dogs that are currently licensed and $10 for dogs without a license. People can get their dogs licensed at the event.

People can bring a cat to be microchipped, too, but animal control officials advised them to bring felines in secure carriers.
