A 19-year-old Bakersfield man charged with murder in the stabbing death of a man early Friday on Telegraph Avenue was ordered Monday held in jail in lieu of posting $1 million bail pending an arraignment June 14.
The charge against Jose Angel Ramos was filed Monday in connection with the stabbing death of Andrew Joseph Zamarron at 1209 Telegraph Ave. near Bakersfield College.
Police have said Ramos and Zamarron were involved in an argument before the stabbing.
Zamarron's family came to the first court appearance for Ramos but they declined to talk to news reporters.
Meanwhile, Bakersfield police asked the public's help in finding Ray Bryant, 33, in connection with the incident. Bryant is 5'7", 285 pounds, with brown shaved hair brown eyes and numerous tattoos. He is also wanted for a parole violation, police said.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Bryant is urged to call Detective Patrick Hayes at 326-3541.
