Supervisors to talk next years budget

Kern County supervisors will talk budget Tuesday.
In most circumstances, when you have to plan to make it through the coming year with the same amount of money and higher costs, it's a bad thing.
But after three or four budget years where most county departments have had to start the year with at least five percent less cash, and then absorb the extra costs, the projected Kern County budget for the 2012-2013 fiscal years is looking rosy.
Of course, the state could come in and dump some more services on the county, capture some cash and ruin everything, county officials say.
We'll see what comes up this morning.
