Supes to talk about proper care of taxpayer cash

By The Bakersfield Californian

Supervisors will take up the issue of the day at 2 p.m., talking about the compliance and accountability reviews now being done by the County Administrative Office.

The reviews check in with county departments after they are issued adverse findings during routine audits by the Kern County Auditor-Controller's office.

They are supposed to help county departments correct problems and avoid situations in which fraud or embezzlement could result in the loss of county taxpayer dollars.

Supervisors are likely to pontificate about this a bit, but it's unclear whether any of the findings will result in debate.
