A school bus accident Friday morning resulted in six students being sent to the hospital for treatment of minor neck or back pain, according to a Greenfield Union School District official.
A McKee Middle School bus with 65 people aboard was headed south on South Union Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Friday when a car that had been at the stop sign on McKee Road pulled out in front of the bus and headed north on Union Avenue, colliding with the bus, said Greenfield Superintendent Ken Chichester.
Most of the school children were unharmed, but those who complained of neck or back pain were taken to Kern Medical Center as a precaution, Chichester said.
The driver of the car had two passengers, Chichester said. He did not know anything about their conditions.
The California Highway Patrol didn't return calls seeking additional information.
