City council makes committee appointments
By The Bakersfield Californian
The Bakersfield City Council approved appointments for its seven committees plus other boards with city representation at their meeting on Wednesday night. The council committees take up specific issues, such as personnel issues or changes to city codes, and make recommendations for the whole council to vote on.
The Ward 1 seat, vacated by Rudy Salas last month when he moved to the state Assembly, won't be filled until a special election is held in June. So the council members approved a place-holder spot on three committees for the next Ward 1 representative.
