The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory with dust storms for parts of Kern County at 12:34 p.m. Wednesday.

The weather advisory is for the southeast Kern County desert and the Indian Wells Valley and will stay in place until 11 p.m. Wednesday.

The dust may cause sudden reduction in visibility while driving, according to a NWS advisory.

Wind speed may range from 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph in mountain passes. The high winds may also make driving difficult in the area.

Winds are expected to diminish by Thursday morning.

Locations most affected include Tehachapi, Walker Pass and Tehachapi Pass, according to the NWS advisory.
