Suspect arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon

Bakersfield police have arrested Timothy Garza, 30, of Bakersfield, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, false imprisonment, threats and intimidation.
Investigators found that on March 3 Garza tried to have sex with the victim, and when she refused his advances he assaulted her. Garza then retrieved a gun and threatened to kill the victim and himself, and also told her he would have her deported.
Garza held the victim against her will for 20 minutes and then left the residence. He was arrested in Arvin.
