Boy drowns at Bakersfield residence Monday

A 2-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at a residence in the 12500 block of Sawtooth Avenue in Bakersfield Monday evening.
Uriah Prendez was taken to Mercy Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a coroner's office news release. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine cause and manner of death.
Bakersfield police are investigating.
