The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's assistance in locating Monica Palacioz. Palacioz is wanted for questioning in a homicide investigation. On Nov. 23, the body of 21-year-old Joseph Vargas was located at 1903 Quincy St. #3 in east Bakersfield. Vargas had been shot in the head and his death has been ruled a homicide. Palacioz is a person of interest in the investigation. She is possibly living in Madera. If anyone has information on her whereabouts, they are asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 861-3110, Sgt. James Newell at 868-7972 or Secret Witness at 322-4040. Anonymous text tips can be sent to TIP411 (847411). Just type the keyword "KCSO" prior to the message.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a woman who is wanted for questioning in a homicide investigation.
Monica Palacioz, 33, is a "person of interest" in the Nov. 23, 2012 homicide that happened at 1903 Quincy St. #3 in east Bakersfield, where Joseph Vargas, 21, was shot in the head, according to the sheriff's news release.
Palacioz is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 3 inches, 190 pounds, with black hair and black eyes. Her last known address was in Madera.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 861-3110, Sgt. James Newell at 868-7972 or Secret Witness at 322-4040.
