Police search for Rite Aid robbery suspect

The Bakersfield Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted for strong-arm robbery.

At about 8:19 p.m. Jan. 25, the suspect entered Rite Aid at 2505 Mount Vernon Ave. and took merchandise. He attempted to exit the store without paying but was confronted by a store employee. The suspect struck the employee and then fled with the merchandise, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium built, with short black hair, sideburns and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to call the BPD at 327-7111 or Detective Josh Finney at 326-3535.
