Teen girl says man tried pulling her into car

A 16-year-old girl reported Thursday she was walking home from the area of Brundage Lane and Union Avenue when she was approached by a man driving a green 1990s Honda Accord with an oxidized hood.

The man spoke to her in Spanish but she couldn't understand him. He drove by her several team and when she reached the area of South Union Avenue and Terrace Way he got out of the car and grabbed her by the arm.

The girl managed to pull away and run from him, and the man got back in his car and drove away.

The man is described as Hispanic, 45-50 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, slim build, with a thick mustache and medium length brown hair and wearing a black shirt, light-colored Levis and a green hat with the Mexican flag the and word "Mexico" on the front.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
