Two arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft at Bakersfield College

About 8 p.m. Thursday, Bakersfield police were conducting an extra patrol operation in the area of Bakersfield College related to recent vehicle thefts.
An officer saw a black Honda leaving the area of the college at a high rate of speed. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and led officers on a 5-minute chase before hitting a fence.
Two suspects ran from the vehicle and were later located arrested. The vehicle and fence sustained minor damage.
The suspects had just stolen the vehicle from Bakersfield College while the victim was in class.
The two juvenile suspects were arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, felony evading arrest in a vehicle, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
