Lamont resident shot twice while out walking

About 4:30 p.m. Friday, deputies were sent to the 12400 block of Weedpatch Highway south of Lamont on a report of suspicious activity.
Deputies found 19-year-old Manuel Garcia, of Lamont, suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and groin. Garcia was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-lifethreatening injuries.
Deputies learned Garcia was with another person on the sidewalk in the 12300 block of Weedpatch Highway when a white car pulled up alongside them and stopped. The occupants began a conversation with Garcia and when Garcia walked up to the car, he was shot twice.
There is no description of the suspects at this time and the vehicle has only been described as a white car.
