By THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN
Bakersfield Police are looking for a man who is suspected of robbing a man, taking him hostage and forcing him to withdraw money from an ATM, according to a Bakersfield Police Department news release.
On Nov. 11, the suspect approached the victim at the 7-Eleven store at 2351 South Union Ave. The suspect told the victim he was robbing him, according to the news release. The victim feared the suspect was armed and gave up his personal property, according to the news release.
The suspect then drove the victim against his will to another 7-Eleven, the one at 1701 Pacheco Road. There, the suspect told the victim to withdraw money from the ATM, according to the news release. But the victim asked one of the store employees for help, and the suspect fled. The suspect left in a black, newer-model, 12-door vehicle.
The suspect is described as black, 40 to 50 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inch tall and medium build with glasses and black and gray hair.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111 or Detective Ryan Kroeker at 326-3546.
