Two arrested in Bakersfield on suspicion of operating a chop shop
By BREAKING NEWS BLOG
On Tuesday, investigators tried to contact occupants of a residence in the 2300 block of Citrus Avenue in east Bakersfield concerning suspicious vehicles on the property.
A resident, Daniel Rogers, ran toward the rear of the property when officers approached. He was apprehended and it was determined he was on probation and subject to search for stolen property.
Officers also contacted Ryan Gandara on the property. A search revealed two stolen 1992 Honda Civics and a stolen 1996 Honda Accord were on the property in various stages of being taken apart.
Rogers and Gandara were arrested on suspicion of three counts of possession of a stolen vehicle and operating a chop shop, and Rogers was also arrested on suspicion of resisting or delaying an officer.
