Trust fund set up for CHP officer's family

A trust fund has been set up for th family of a California Highway Patrol officer who shot and killed himself last week.
Officer Denny Drummond, 42, was a CHP officer for 14 years and had cancer that was in remission, but CHP officials have said he was being evaluated for a possible reoccurrence. He was found lying in the road on the 2700 block of Karla Street Thursday night.
Anyone wishing to assist Drummond's family can make donations to the Denny Drummond Fund, with checks payable to the Denny Drummond Fund Account #121629. Checks can be mailed to the CAHP Credit Union, PO Box 276507, Sacramento, Calif. 95827.
Some banks may also allow an electronic transfer.
Drummond's funeral is open to the public and will be held 12 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Mortuary, followed by a memorial service 2 p.m. at Valley Baptist Church.
