Man dies after being shot in east Bakersfield

A Bakersfield man who was shot Monday night in the 3500 block of Pioneer Drive in east Bakersfield died early Tuesday at Kern Medical Center.

The Kern County Coroner's office identified the man as 23-year-old Terrence Jamaal Nash. He was shot at 11:43 p.m. Monday and died at 12:31 a.m. Tuesday in KMC's emergency room.

Homicide detectives went to the scene to investigate, according to a Kern County Sheriff's Office news release.

An autopsy will be done to determine the cause and manner of death.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office asks that anyone with information on the shooting call them at 861-3110 or contact Secret Witness at 322-4040.
