Three-year sentence for man who grew pot in McFarland area

Bernardino Garcia, 47, of Farmersville, was sentenced Monday to three years in prison for growing marijuana in the McFarland area.
According to court documents, Garcia and his wife, Martha Maria Lopez, 45, and six others were arrested June 15, 2011 on agricultural land in the McFarland area where 2,400 pot plants were being grown. Lopez is scheduled to be sentenced March 11.
