Fire causes $20,000 in damage

At 2:07 a.m. Tuesday, Kern County firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle on fire in the 1700 block of Lake Street.
When crews arrived, the fire had spread to a 1,000-square-foot residence. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which caused $20,000 in damage.
No one was injured but the family living there has been displaced.
