Search and Rescue assist Jeep stuck in snow
By BREAKING NEWS BLOG
A Kern County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Unit rescued two people who were stuck in snow Sunday afternoon.
At 1:30 p.m. Gary Simmons and Kimberly Cooter were driving over the Breckenridge Road summit when their 2010 Jeep Wrangler became stuck in the snow, according to a sheriff's news release. They used a cell phone to call for help.
The Kern Valley Team came in from Caliente Bodfish Road with an Argo, an eight-wheel all-terrain tracked vehicle, and the Bakersfield team responded from the west with two tracked snow vehicles.
Both teams made it to the stranded vehicle and both Simmons and Cooter were helped down the mountain to safety.
