Taft father sentenced to jail after child tests positive for meth

The father of a Taft toddler who tested positive for methamphetamine was sentenced to 180 days in jail after pleading no contest to willful cruelty to a child.
Christopher Davidson was sentenced Thursday morning, according to court records.
Davidson and the child's mother, Gina Barrios, were arrested in late August after their 2-year-old daughter was taken to a hospital Aug. 15 after having seizure-like symptoms, Taft police said. A urine test at the hospital came back positive for meth.
The child was released from the hospital and taken into custody by Child Protective Services, police said.
