Deputies: Suspects climb through chain-link fence, burglarize RV Peddler

By BREAKING NEWS BLOG

Two people were arrested early Monday after deputies said they climbed through a hole in a chain-link fence at RV Peddler on Golden State Avenue and stole property, according to a Kern County Sheriff's Department news release.

An M&S security officer saw two people exit a Ford Expedition parked in the dirt lot south of the business at about 2:43 a.m. They went through the hole and onto the property, deputies reported.

Deputies who set up a perimeter and searched the grounds with two K-9 units found that five recreational vehicles had been broken into. Deputies reported they found several pieces of stolen property inside one of the RVs.

Melissa Horn, 20, of Bakersfield was found in the Ford Expedition and was arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Nathan Christopher Fletcher, 31, of Bakersfield was found hiding in a closet in the recreational vehicle with the stolen property. He was taken into custody with the help of a sheriff's canine and arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
