A 21-year-old Bakersfield man was shot to death at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday in the southeast, police and coroner's officials said Monday.
After getting reports of a shooting, Bakersfield police found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshots in the 500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The man was unresponsive and taken to the hospital, where he died just after 7 p.m., officials said.
The Kern County coroner's office identified the man as Floyd Beam.
The suspects in the shooting were described as two black males wearing dark clothing, police said. They said after shooting the victim, the suspects ran away northbound from the scene.
Anyone with information about the case was encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111 or Detective Dave Cox at 326-3514.
