Man dies after being struck by pick-up

A 21-year-old man from Bakersfield died Sunday night after being struck by a pick-up truck, according to the California Highway Patrol and the Kern County coroner's office.
It wasn't immediately clear if the man was walking or was riding a skateboard, a CHP news release said.
Anthony Matthew Saldana was found deceased at 9:38 p.m. on westbound Niles Street, just east of Valencia Drive in Bakersfield, the coroner's office said.
Debris found at the scene indicates the person was hit by a 2004-2012 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up. The driver did not stop to help or provide identifying information, the CHP news release said.
The incident remains under investigation.
