Law enforcement will be out in force on Super Bowl Sunday

The California Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies will be out in force over the Super Bowl weekend to discourage motorists from driving under the influence.
On average, the CHP has made about 450 arrests statewide on Super Bowl Sunday each of the past three years. Alcohol was involved in nearly 25 percent of crashes on Super Bowl Sunday 2010, the most recent year for which data was available.
Those crashes resulted in the death of six people and injuries to 124 others throughout California.
The public is asked to call 911 is they see a suspected drunken driver, and to provide the vehicle's description, license plate number, location and direction of travel.
